An Innovative Glow System for Modern Diesel Engines 1999-01-1240
In order to further improve the starting performance, smooth running, and exhaust-gas emissions from diesel engines, and to provide for immediate start, Robert Bosch GmbH has developed a new glow system. It comprises composite-ceramic sheathed-element glow plugs and a transistorized glow control unit.
Due to its innovative heating principle with external heater element, and its very high glow-plug temperature, the composite-ceramic sheathed-element glow plug has a number of considerable advantages compared to the conventional ceramic and metal glow plugs.
