Critical Speeds and Unbalance Response of a Jeffcott Rotor on Angular Misaligned Hydrodynamic Bearings 2001-01-3912
Journal's angular vibration effects on the steady state response of single span rotors are evaluated by means of a Jeffcott based model. Bearings' forces and couples are calculated using a finite length hydrodynamic bearing model, and the corresponding stiffness and damping matrices, used in linear vibration analyses, require the calculation of 32 dynamic coefficients. Several results describing the influence of these forces and couples on the critical speeds and vibration amplitudes of the system are presented.
