A Study on Relationship between Pad Restraint Condition and Brake Squeal Generation 2004-01-2801

In this study, we examined the relation between pad restraint condition and brake squeal generation by analyzing brake pad behavior when squeal generates.
As a result, it is found that the pad restraint condition largely contribute to brake squeal, and it is indispensable to keep rigid contact for reduction of brake squeal.
Therefore, stabilization of pad restraint condition is important as premise of eigenvalue optimization by comply eigenvalue analysis, which is widely adopted method for reduction of brake squeal at present time. And here we suggest a structure for its realization and report the effect.
