Research on Accurate Engagement Control of Electrohydraulic Clutch Actuator 2005-01-1787

Electrohydraulic clutch actuator is widely used on automated manual transmission (AMT) as part of the gear shifting system. Due to the complicated work condition and strong nonlinear characteristic of the system, it is difficult to control the engaging speed accurately. The engagement control is very important for ensuring the control quality such as small facing wear, smooth shift and perfect start performance. So how to control the engaging speed accurately is crucial for AMT control system. Based on system simulation model, an adaptive control algorithm with pulse-width modulated (PWM) method is presented in this paper, in which the duty cycle is modified along with the change of flow coefficient. The purpose is to make the engaging speed tracking the target speed precisely.
