Abstract:

Synergistic integration of multiple technologies yields improved assembly of components utilizing threaded fasteners. Combining ergonomic tool design with advanced Bluetooth linked feedback provides worker friendly portable installation of multiple threaded fasteners. Optimizing fastener design for automated feed combined with error tolerant capability results in consistent installations that meet monitored six sigma variation limits. Tool design, fastener design, assembly data collection, and ergonomic optimization are presented for maximized assembly versatility and control.
