Brake Caliper Fluid Displacement on Dynamometers - Is it The End For Caliper Test Stands? 2007-01-3955

This paper discusses the technical importance of measuring disc brake caliper stiffness, seal performance, and fluid displacement. The paper then presents a method for measuring brakes and calculating these parameters during routine friction dynamometer testing. Finally, results of this testing from multiple production calipers are presented and discussed.
