Study on Algorithm for Turbocharger Surge Detection and Its Application 2008-01-1695

To ensure the security and validity of turbocharger compressor performance test, it is necessary to detect the surge onset accurately and fast. An algorithm is put forward based on the frequency-domain and time-domain data analysis of surge performances of turbocharger compressor. A real-time surge signal is detected by using a high-frequency pressure transducer, a high-speed data acquisition board and the signal processing software. The validation test shows that this detection system can meet the demand of fast detection of the surge onset of turbocharger compressor.
