Engineering The Driver 2008-01-2968

The intentions for this paper are to provide a better understanding of what causes a driver to perform at his maximum level, and how to tune your driver to do so. In a sport where results count for a team/engineer's reputation, tuning or “engineering the driver” may have the biggest impact on a race engineer's career.
A driver can develop his own abilities (skills and techniques), but once he does that, others can impact how well he consistently performs - how well he accesses and uses these skills and techniques. Anyone working with a driver should use a variety of “tools” to help a driver perform consistently at his best.
