GPS/GSM/RFID based Online Vehicle Tracking, Assigning and Monitoring 2008-28-0062

Nowadays, vehicle tracking system can be applied for heavy vehicles used in constructions, mining etc., It is possible to provide a system by which a vehicle can be tracked and navigated even in an unfamiliar location. The optimum truck assignment can be done by using communication techniques such as GPS and GSM. Truck arrivals at specified intermediate locations can be determined precisely by using an onboard GPS/GSM processor and a message can be automatically transmitted to the central computer. Then the central computer will be able to assign shovel number, dumping point position to the truck and assign operator to the vehicles using the data received from the Radio System (GSM). Availability of operators in the site area can be checked by means of RFID technology.
A user friendly HMI on the vehicle can enable the display of trend analysis of critical parameters like engine oil pressure, temperature and view of alarms log. Essential information like position of truck, low oil pressure warning and oil change signal can be sent to the central computer for vehicle monitoring facility.
