Project of a Suspension System and Geometry Direction for an Automotive Prototype 2008-36-0054

This work is the geometric project of one automotive prototype suspension and direction system, the vehicle has a tubular steel chassis, power train located in the posterior part of the vehicle and independent suspension, having capacity of transport for two people. The project is based in the development of the system of independent suspe nsion of the vehicle, as well as the system of direction of the same, basing on the attainment of the adjusted dynamic characteristics for the archetype. It was determined during the project the position of the roll axis of the vehicle body, it was obtained by the geometrical characteristics of the suspension system. The analysis was conducted of the relationship between the position of the roll axis of the vehicle body and the dynamic behavior of the vehicle, based on a study of the behavior of the mass suspended. Through the construction of a model in actual size, was developed an assembly of the suspension and steering systems elements, as well as the provision of the elements in the vehicle chassis. This model allowed the visualization of possible interference in the handling of both systems, enabling the analysis of functionality of the all.
