Abstract:

Wind River's VxWorks has evolved from the uniprocessor Real-Time Operating system to a family of Operating Systems. VxWorks includes implementations for multiprocessing among many uniprocessor nodes (VxMP), and SMP, AMP, Paravirtualization, and partitioning systems for implementing Integrated Modular Avionics systems and MILS requirements. Legacy systems implemented with multiple nodes could now be replaced with a single-board multicore solution.
