A Procedure to Simulate the Pass-by Noise Test of a Two-Wheel Vehicle Inside a Semi-Anechoic Chamber 2009-26-0044
During the development of the noise reduction systems for two-wheelers, it is important to have sufficient accurate acoustic measurements and suitable repeatability conditions for the fundamental tests to evaluate the nature of the acoustic sources and for the sound-insulating interventions. Such exigencies, essential from the acoustic point of view for the development of a valuable project for a two-wheeler, led to the realization of a test mode that is realized inside a semi-anechoic chamber provided with a roller bench. This paper describes the concepts that lay the ground for the realization of a laboratory of this kind and of the test methodology developed to obtain a good correlation between the laboratory measurements and the road measurements.
