Design Style Influence on Pedestrian Leg Impacts 2009-36-0067

This paper presents a comparative analysis considering two different vehicle styling and a common energy absorber system. Based on the results, we will able to conclude about the Design Style influences on the pedestrian collisions because more than 70% of the pedestrian collision occurs in the front of the vehicle
When we analyze pedestrian protection with focus on head impact, although the influence of hood geometries, material and thickness, generically a higher hood due to the under hood clearances helps on the results, but for leg impact, which is the influence on the results when a high vehicle is considered?
