Performance Analysis for Chain Collision Scenario with V2V Communication 2011-28-0029
Recently, various vehicle safety services have been researched due to the development of vehicle sensor devices. In particular, a study related to FVCWS (Forward Vehicle Collision Warning System) is continuously being conducted. However, there is a limitation preventing chain collisions because the system presently relies on only information from one vehicle. However, chain collisions can be avoided and the damages are reduced by utilizing information of neighboring vehicles through V2V (Vehicle to Vehicle) communication. In this paper, we simulated chain collision scenarios, including factors related to FVCWS, and analyzed the limitations. Thus we demonstrate that FVCWS using V2V communication significantly decreases chain collision and the consequent damage.
