Abstract:
India is densely populated and has high solar insolation, which varies from 4 to 7 kWh/ (m2.day) with about 1500-2000 sunshine hours per year. Transportation sector is a major source for global carbon emissions and also contributes to air quality concerns, particularly in urban areas. In view of above, development of a passenger solar electric hybrid vehicle program has been initiated. The team is currently working towards the development of a solar passenger electric hybrid vehicle with an aim to reduce environmental pollutants by incorporating innovative energy efficient green technologies.The broad objectives of this project will be to Reduce dependency on fossil fuels, to preserve environment through sustainable mobility solutions, andTo penetrate Solar Hybrid Vehicle technology in the Indian Market at an affordable cost.
