Quasi-Continuously-Variable Transmission Provides Hydraulic Regenerative Braking for Passenger Cars, Trucks, and Buses 2014-01-1717

A hydro-mechanical transmission is described that approximates the “gearing” performance of a continuously variable transmission and incorporates all functions required for hydraulic regenerative braking.
