Research of Turbo-supercharging system based on power recovery of diesel engine at plateau 2016-01-8087

The output power of a turbocharged diesel engine will decrease and the maximum torque point in the full load torque map will move backwards when the engine is operating at plateau. To solve these problems, take a 6V diesel engine for example, it mainly includes the following procedures: firstly, determine the arrangement of the Roots-type supercharger and turbocharger through theoretical analysis; secondly, choose the GR of supercharger according to the air mass flow rate and the air pressure ratio at the maximum torque point; thirdly, build the engine simulation model which could reflect the effect of elevation changes and set two operating modes of the turbo-supercharging system in to optimize the GR of supercharger and the switch point between the two modes in GT-POWER; finally, start the simulation at 0m and 4500m altitudes and get the external characteristics of the engine, which shows that the diesel engine can operate in stability in plateau and its rated power can be recovered to 80% of the sea-level.
