Simulation and Optimization on Oscillating Cooling Characteristics in High-enhanced Piston Oil Cooling Gallery

Abstract:
Oscillating cooling characteristics in high-enhanced piston oil cooling gallery were simulated by using ALE dynamic grid technique and CLSVOF method. The influence of structure parameters and oil filling rate to the average temperature of oil gallery was analyzed by the analyzation of response surface. The optimal oil filling rate and structure parameters were acquired by combining with MOGA method. The results show that the average temperature of oil gallery wall reduces with the height of oil cooling gallery increasing; with the oil gallery top surface getting longer the average temperature of oil gallery wall after first decreases elevates; the contribution rate of oil filling rate is bigger than oil gallery structure in reducing average temperature of oil gallery wall; the optimal solution reduces average temperature of original machine wall by 8 % and the calculation error of the optimal results and calculating result is less than 5%.
