It is important to design suitable test cases for the battery management strategy (BMS), which is directly related to the safety of the electric vehicle powertrain. A test framework was established to realize the automated closed-loop test case based on the application scenario of BMS, including vehicle powertrain model, battery model, battery management model, test case block and assessment block. The automated test inputs of the management strategy were designed in the test case block. The function requirement of charge management, discharge management, cell balance control, security protection, thermal management and fault diagnosis were designed in the assessment block of the test framework. The test results show that the proposed BMS automated closed-loop test can reach 80% of model coverage, and 100% of function requirement, which is an effective method to automatively test the battery management strategy.
