The problem that we are trying to solve is how one can effectively use multiple network interfaces available in different electronic control units in the vehicle telematics system. Although, this traffic is similar to traffic on a smart device, it differs considerably in many scenarios and use-cases. When the vehicle is in motion, network interface availability is highly transient; this poses unique challenges for utilizing the available networks effectively. The solution that we are proposing for effective utilization of multiple interfaces is an architecture for vehicle telematics platform that utilizes Multipath TCP.
