Experimental Investigation and 1D Theoretical Prediction on Dynamics of Boost Control System in Turbocharger

Abstract:
The dynamics of boost control system in smart waste gate (WG) turbocharger is considered. The objective is to operate this system to avoid risk of resonance with pulse-width modulation (PWM) valve. It is demonstrated experimental results in three positions that cover full stroke range to understand dynamic properties. Furthermore, 1D theoretical prediction model is proposed. This obtained model is in good agreement with experimental investigation. It is clear that this theoretical prediction model is required to accurately and rapidly capture the dynamic feature of boost control system.
