DESIGN FEATURES OF THE NEW CONTINENTAL 750 HORSEPOWER DIESEL ENGINE - Notes On High Performance Four-Cycle Diesel Engines 600 Horsepower to 1000 Horsepower Range 570075
Trends and problems in the design of four-cycle, high performance Diesel engines in the 600 horsepower to 1000 horsepower range are discussed. The basic design features of the new Continental 750 horsepower air-cooled Diesel engine are explained with particular reference to the high performance requirements. Three foreign Diesel engines are shown to illustrate various design approaches. A short outlook into the foreseeable future concludes the paper.
