THE DESIGN and operating characteristics of a new ground support vehicle is described in this paper. Built for the Air Force, the Teracruzer weighs only 16,000 lb and has a maximum pay-load of 16,000 lb.
The vehicle uses Goodyear high-flotation tires of 42-in. diameter, the air pressure of which is controlled by the driver. All wheels have axle drive. Angle drive brings the drive down through the centerline of the steering fifth wheel.
