This paper presents a description of a unique, all spotwelded, foil-gauge structural material for use at elevated temperatures. This construction, “MiniWate”, is a single skin, corrugation stiffened structure with strength equivalent to that of double skin brazed sandwich construction of equivalent weight. The structure is designed to eliminate blind spot welds, to simplify inspection, and to reduce manufacturing costs. The spotwelding technique makes possible the use of any spotweldable material and eliminates the problems involved in developing new brazing techniques. Sample products and some design problems are discussed.
