Four major areas of design of a hydraulic steering system on a pivot steer rubber tired front end loader are reviewed - sales acceptance, application, concept, and system. Application factors are steer efforts, control, and rate; roading characteristics; and operator efforts. The unit discussed achieved: reduced horsepower consumption, constant steer rate, increased operator comfort, and increased unit productivity.
