Design Requirements for an Advanced Weapon System 630275
In the last 20 years the size and complexities of weapon systems has grown. This will continue with the trend toward more integrated ship weapon systems. The size and sophistication of new weapon systems are straining the Navy’s resources for their development, maintenance, and effective use. Advanced concepts of system design are necessary to minimize the number of systems that must be developed to cover all needs, and to make possible long useful life through easy updating. Furthermore, these systems must have a very high probability of providing high system effectiveness by high operability and rapid repair.
