An Automatic Transient Control For Shifting a Jaw Clutch Transmission 630319
A jaw clutch transmission represents the simplest form of gearing in which a selective series of ratios can be imposed between a power source and a load in a mechanical power transmission system. As a power train component, its position has been maintained over the years because of its relatively low initial cost and because of its modest maintenance cost. This paper discusses the requirements and describes the operation of an automatic control shift for this mechanism.
