The potential of fuel cells as a new and unusual source of electrical energy appears unlimited, and much progress in this direction has been made during recent years. However, before commercial application of this device can be considered, certain problems and difficulties must be overcome. This paper describes the various fuel cell systems under study, their capabilities and their shortcoming.
