Engine-Governor Analysis 640081

This paper presents methods and sample results of computer engine-governor studies that investigate speed behavior at constant engine load and upon large step changes of load. The study represents the nonlinear mechanical system in explicit form, allowing investigation of both full load step changes as well as constant load speed variations. Analysis of the computer results provides a means of intelligently selecting the most satisfactory combination of parameters to achieve desired performance requirements.
