High frequency welding is a relative newcomer to the field of welding. The variety of applications which have been in production for some time, are described, as are those which have recently been put into operation or have been pilot tested. The various applications discussed which use high frequency induction butt welding include: cast iron pipe, railroad rails, titanium tubing, small cylindrical shapes such as drills, medium size cylindrical solid sections,, large diameter cylinders, nickel bars, compressor housings, and rear axle housings.
