An Evaluation of Power Take-Off Problems — Air Compressors 640254
Problems associated with the application of truck-mounted, power take-off driven 100 psi air compressors are discussed and various drive techniques are evaluated. A new chassis-enclosed compressor arrangement requiring no body space is presented.
Resolution of the problems involve improvements in three areas: increased power at the compressor, less awkward power transmitting techniques, and greater equipment mounting space.
