This paper covers methods of determining tire cost per mile, plus the effect of proper scrap analysis and fleet logistics analysis upon tire cost, in a typical over-the-road dry freight fleet.
The conclusion is that it is reasonable to expect a fleet of this type, operating under optimum conditions, to realize a tire cost of 0.7 mills per mile.
