Earl E. Carlsten - Supersonic Transport Div., The Boeing Co.
Abstract:
The supersonic transport is a larger and more complex airplane than the present-day subsonic transport. Economic considerations, however, require that maintenance and servicing functions be reduced in order to provide high airplane utilization. A support concept is described which combines ground support and self-sufficiency items built into the airplane. Systems and support equipment which are unique to the supersonic transport are described.
