Application and Operation of the LM100 Gas Turbine Engine in Bell SK-5 Air Cushion Vehicle 670965
The LM100 marine powerplant is a derivative of the T-58 turboshaft engine, the experience and maturity of which have been immediately valuable to the marine and industrial version.
Some of the advantages of the LM100 discussed in this paper are its compactness, low specific fuel consumption, quick starting ability over a wide range of temperatures, and ability to withstand shock.
