Direct Driven Gas Turbine Fuel Pumps 690742

The driving of fuel pumps by the gas turbine shaft is shown to offer potential savings in weight and size when the total accessory package and drive is considered. This is achieved by modifying standard pumping concepts in order to retain current performance and endurance characteristics.
A review is presented showing the benefits of different pump concepts to engines of different power ratings.
