Dynamic test equipment is used to characterize elastomers and compounding ingredients for the purpose of selecting those most suitable for the various types of dynamic mountings and to develop formulations with balanced properties. Key measurements include modulus under conditions of dynamic vibration, damping, and the ratios by which these quantities change with changes in frequency, amplitude, and temperature.
