Three airlines-AA, TW, and UA-have combined talents and experience to agree on 10 fuel-handling standardization documents. These documents provide detailed specifications and procedures for turbine fuel, safety, quality control, aircraft servicing, refuelers, hydrant vehicles, equipment performance tests, storage facilities, and hydrant systems.
This paper reviews the fuel-handling standards program and highlights each document. The documents, while providing complete coverage, are presented as the groundwork for universal fuel-handling standards.
