Volumetric Modeling in Cao for the Design of Automobile Parts 845123

The research offices and the automobile systems offices which became highly competitive in the areas of computerized design, from design and manufacturing of defined parts beginning with surface areas, have now discovered potentials for informational systems suggesting creative design and production control.
In the same fashion, the power of the calculation units and the increasing performances of graphics, at constantly diminishing costs, have allowed planning for use of more complex computers. Thus, the systems designers of CFAO were able to set up third generation products: after the "2 dimensions" then the "3 dimensions" surface, the "3 dimension" volumetric integrating complex left sides has been put into use.
Relying on examples, one will show how in the automotive industry these products allow the following: - better management of space that is useful during architectural study of a subassembly: clearance under the hood, installation of driving gears and control parts in the dashboard, arrangement of the trunk, etc... - optimization of mechanical parts issued from forge or foundry "crudes," thanks to a calculated simplified model by the method of finished parts, -description of body parts in plastic or, functional and rigid interior forms border the exterior forms issued from the study of the stylist to constitute a complex space, - help in modeling and setting up of robots.
The choice of the defining mode of the parts: "elementary solids," "facetization of surfaces" or "spaces with complex sides" is directly linked to CFAO applications under the office of research: in the automobile the necessity of an integration between research offices and sectors of tools manufacturing required us to be directed to the third.
