Application of Electronic Displays for Monitoring and Diagnostics on Earthmoving Equipment 850772
Caterpillar's Electronic Monitoring System provides continuous monitoring of several machine functions, with visual indication and/or audible warning, depending on the urgency of the situation.
On more complex controls, on-board diagnostic LEDs permit the serviceman to quickly determine which peripheral circuit contains a fault, shortening the troubleshooting time and eliminating the need for a major service tool.
Dealer and user acceptance of these systems appears to be improving significantly, after the initial familiarization and education period.
