Reparability of the modern motor car in Australia, is dependent
on many factors. The car with its various component parts, people
equipped with the necessary level of expertise, and adequate
facilities in terms of premises and equipment.
The paper addresses these factors to indicate the way in which
the modern motor car is maintained under Australian operating
conditions, given that in Australia many 20 year old motor cars are
providing satisfactory everyday service.
It will be necessary, in the future, to maintain the cars
currently being produced for a similar period.
