Computer Simulation of Automatic Climate Control Functions in Cars 860584
Computer programs have been established which simulate the function of a micro-processor controlled heater/AC system and the vehicle response. Characteristic vehicle parameters are deduced from test results whilst ambient and driving conditions as well as the temperature set point have to be defined, Control algorithms supply the control output signals. A vehicle model is used to determine the system operating points considering these control signals. Heat capacities, transfers, and balances allow the determination of the discharge and vehicle interior temperatures, which are used as feedback data for the control algorithms.
These programs provide useful assistance in developing automated climate control systems.
