Off-Highway HVAC-Evolution to the 1990's-Ideas and Lessons from Parallel Fields 860744
Automotive and Heavy Truck HVAC systems have evolved at a much more rapid pace than have Off-Highway systems. In this evolution, numerous design approaches, features and components have been developed.
This paper presents a review of Automotive and Heavy Truck HVAC system designs, features and components that may be directly applicable or adapted to Off-Highway HVAC systems. Some may be inappropriate in an Off-Highway installation while others may contribute to better performance, increased durability, ease of packaging or lower life cycle costs.
