An Introduction to Flight Simulation for the Aerodynamic Engineer 861815

The need for qualified Aero Engineers in the field of Flight Simulation is growing. Simulator manufacturers, however, are requiring that entry level Engineers be equipped to do Simulation work as soon after graduation as possible. Thus, it is advantageous that students become familiar with Flight Simulation and that Universities offer curriculum to support this objective. Typically, Aero Engineers working for Simulator manufacturers are required to have a broad background to effectively simulate entire Plight Systems. The purpose of this presentation is to familiarize students with Plight Simulation and then to offer suggestions on course topics that would help them in the work place. A discussion of the current state of Simulation technology and its application in the military and commercial training fields will be included.
