A History of Automotive Headliners and Characteristics of Tramivex™, an Engineered Composite material 870381

Tramivex™ is a trademark of Van Dresser Corporation for an engineered composite material which is currently being used extensively throughout Europe. It is being released in the United States as a headliner material and for other applications. This patented material is a multi-layer composite material of which the heart is a resin impregnated polyether foam. An in-line heated mold carries out the polymerization of the composite structure.
Due to the flexibility of the process the thickness, of the foam, stiffness or flexibility, the type of impregnation, the density of the fiberglass and the types of scrim cover material may all be varied. This variability allows this engineered composite material to meet a rather broad range of specifications and to be engineered for diverse applications.
