Current Status of New Development in Electronic Fuel Injection System 891330

The engine management systems are using more and more electronic fuel injection system.
The main reasons for this are the more stringent requirements concerning lower exhaust gas emission, lower fuel consumption, better driveability, and improved performance.
The technical advantages of the electronic fuel injection compared with the conventional carburettor system are very well known.
  • Exact measuring of the fuel under all operating conditions of the engine.
  • Direct supply of the exactly measured fuel quantity to the inlet valve of the engine.
The advantages of the electronic fuel injection have led to a rapid increase in the production of the injection system. The two types of fuel injection systems being used are the multipoint injection (MPI) and the single point injection (SPI). Besides of the Motronic system which will be introduced in this paper there are four other main systems (K-Jetronic, L-Jetronic, Motronic and Mono-Jetronic) which are currently being used in different projects.
