In September 1988, Audi presented their newly developed top of the range model to the world's public, the Audi V8 quattro.
The design parameters for this new luxury car were:
  • V8 - Engine
  • quattro four-wheel-drive
  • 4-speed automatic transmission with automatic locking centre differential and three driving programs
  • Torsen self locking differential for the rear axle
  • Aerodynamic, fully galvanised body
  • Tension safety system
  • Driver airbag
