Automatic Electric Load Management Centers 901804

Aircraft electrical power distribution systems have traditionally used mechanical switches, relays, and electromechanical circuit breakers. Advances in computer control and solid-state switching technologies now offer the potential for fully automated electrical power systems. A combination of Solid-State Power Controllers, Remote Power Controllers, Smart Contactors, and automatic system processors has evolved into Automatic Electrical Load Management Centers.
This paper summarizes Sundstrand's work in the area of Load Management Centers and Remote Power Controllers through trade studies, design and development, and test results.
