Encoders, Switches and Other Electronic Components Utilizing New Thick Film Material Technology 910494
A new thick film material system produces smooth long wearing conductor patterns surrounded by a non-abrasive insulating surface. The insulator/conductor interface is essentially co-planar which allows extremely long life with a sliding contact. Mechanical, electrical and environmental integrity are excellent due to use of high temperature cermet materials on the alumina ceramic substrates. Manufacturing costs are low due to the process simplicity.
Several automotive electronic components utilizing this technology are described.
