Primary Surface Recuperator for High Performance Prime Movers 920150

A recuperator used in advanced vehicular gas turbines must satisfy the space, weight, dynamic loads, and part power performance requirements. To meet the overall power plant requirements, the gas turbine must be designed with a high pressure ratio and a high turbine inlet temperature. The operating conditions together with cyclic operation of vehicular power plants requires a recuperator with a dense primary heat transfer surface, strong alloys, and increased resistance to thermal and mechanical strains.
Solar's Primary Surface Recuperator (PSR) is a unique heat exchanger technology. Developed for vehicular applications, the PSR incorporates design features that give reliable operation in high cyclic environments. The high heat transfer surface density in the PSR gives high performance, low weight and volume, reduced noise emissions, and low cost.
