Evaluation and Target Values for Materials Used for Advanced MCFC Stacks 929161
For the purpose of realizing molten carbonate fuel cell (MCFC) power generation plants, it is indispensable to attain the following objects.
(1)
To develop cell components with improved performance
(2)
To prolong the life of cell components
(3)
To reduce the capital cost of cell components
In order to develop new materials efficiently, we have discussed and selected evaluation methods of candidate materials as the cell components. Moreover, we have set the target values of cell components at the interim stage of our MCFC development project, in which candidate materials should be screened to proceed to the next scaling-up stage.
This paper describes the evaluation items and target values in order to select candidate materials as well as the status of our material technologies for the purpose of the improvement and enlargement of MCFC stacks.
